Coffee isn’t just your morning pick-me-up; it can also give your skin a healthy boost! More and more skincare companies are harnessing the power of coffee to create gentle yet effective products. The antioxidant and exfoliating benefits of coffee make it a surprise star ingredient.
For starters, coffee is packed with antioxidants like chlorogenic acid. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals that can damage skin cells and cause signs of aging. The caffeine in coffee also helps constrict blood vessels which can decrease puffiness and redness.
When used in skincare scrubs, the coarse texture of coffee grounds provides gentle exfoliation to reveal brighter, smoother skin. The scrubbing action removes dead skin cells that can otherwise clog pores and lead to breakouts. Coffee grounds in body scrubs buff away dullness while stimulating circulation.
Coffee’s distinct aroma also provides an invigorating sensory experience. Who doesn’t love the sweet, earthy smell of coffee? When infused into skincare oils and lotions, coffee releases its comforting scent.
Here are some of the proven benefits of using coffee in natural skincare:
– Exfoliates and deep cleans pores
– Scrubs away dead skin cells
– Helps reduce the appearance of cellulite
– Soothes inflammation
– Brightens and evens skin tone
– Stimulates blood circulation
– Slows signs of aging
– Provides antioxidant protection
Coffee skincare products to try:
– Coffee body scrubs. I will have coffee body scrub recipes in my upcoming e-book.
– Coffee face masks.
– Coffee under eye creams. I infused almond oil with coffee to make a diy eye undereye balm to use at night and it turned out great. It truly has helped my undereye circles and puffiness. The recipe will be coming soon in my e-book.
– Coffee body lotions and butters. I also used the above-mentioned coffee oil in my body butter recipe.
Give your skin a healthy dose of java! A daily coffee skincare ritual can help minimize pores, smooth texture, and give your complexion a radiant glow. The next time you brew your morning coffee, save some grounds to mix into a nourishing homemade scrub. With the natural benefits of coffee, healthy, glowing skin is within reach. Here is a recipe you can make yourself for your own diy creations.
Coffee Infused Almond Oil
This oil smells divine and is great to use in your own diy creations. I have used it in body butters, body scrubs, and an undereye balm.
Ingredients:
– 1 cup almond oil
– 1⁄4 cup freshly ground coffee beans
– Small jar or bottle to store oil
Instructions:
1. Pour the almond oil into a small saucepan and warm over low heat for 2-3 minutes. You want the oil to be warm, not hot.
2. Remove pan from heat and stir in the ground coffee beans.
3. Cover and allow to steep for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally. Longer steeping time will result in stronger coffee flavor.
4. Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and line it with cheesecloth or a coffee filter. Carefully pour the oil through the strainer to remove all grounds.
5. Transfer filtered oil to a clean jar or bottle for storage. Make sure your container has an airtight lid.
6. Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight. The infused oil will keep for up to 1 year.
Use this aromatic coffee infused almond oil for a soothing massage or to make your own scrub. The almond oil will leave skin smooth while the coffee provides antioxidant protection. The infused oil also makes a lovely moisturizer. Mix a few drops into your favorite face cream or lotion.
